“Lauren was beyond what I could of expected in a doula. Everything I thought I wanted was not even close to the care Lauren provided. If it wasn’t for her hydrating me after every contraction for 14 hours and helping turn my baby posterior 9 lb 2oz baby – I wouldn’t be able to talk about the most amazing experience I had! And Catherine processed my placenta! You ladies have a gift, thank you!”

“I have tears in my eyes as I write this. Lauren is an angel sent from above. She helped me and my partner birth our little boy earlier this year. During our incredibly challenging and long labor (53 hours), Lauren was there to guide me, support me and rub my back and feet. She also helped calm and soothe my partner. She empowered him to be there for me. I treasure our birth story and will always remember her grounding presence and subtle strength.”

“I was very happy with Lauren’s warm, professional service. She powdered my placenta and was on hand to pick it up at the hospital with a quick turn around. I had no postpartum depression or struggles and I really credit taking the placenta pills. I plan to use her again for my next baby and I highly recommend her! Thanks!”

“Lauren was truly a blessing to have as a doula! She was such a support and amazing resource both at the end of my pregnancy and throughout my labor. My husband and I both felt she was a calming spirit, a reassuring voice and wonderful, encouraging presence to have during the birth of our first child. She helped remind us at crucial times some of our birth wishes we had forgotten during the chaos of labor and assisted us at each cross road as unplanned events arose. Without Lauren, our birth experience would not have been the same. We are forever grateful and thankful for her. She would be a huge asset to anyone considering hiring a doula! Thanks Lauren for the amazing work you do.”

“Lauren is wonderful! My husband and I choose her as our doula because she had this great kind, strong and wonderful energy to her and we made the right choice. All of our family is on the East Coast and this being our first child we thought a doula would be a good idea. Lauren so came through for us as a great support person during labor. My husband and I both feel thankful and blessed that she was there for us. She was amazingly helpful and insightful during my labor and was great at recognizing what we needed and when to assist and when to back off and let my husband take the lead. So glad that she was there with us to welcome our sweet boy.”

“Lauren provided postpartum care for myself and my newborn daughter in June of 2015, and it is with a heart full of love and gratitude that I give her my highest recommendation. I had the privilege of working with Lauren for two wonderful weeks while my family transitioned from four to five. Lauren has the amazing gift of intuitive, warm, peaceful caregiving, and a vast knowledge base that allowed me to focus on those precious bonding moments with my new babe. I did not have a doula for my previous two children, and I had no idea how much one is needed. My recovery time, breastfeeding success, bonding, and decreased postpartum anxiety were all positively impacted by Lauren’s presence and gentle spirit. She is a fabulous cook, a baby whisperer, and a little bit of Mary Poppins all rolled into one amazing lady!”

“Lauren was an amazing support beam for me during the last few months of my pregnancy. My husband and I are currently living across the country from one another for a year and there was a strong possibility that he wouldn’t make it in time for the birth. Knowing that I would have Lauren by my side allowed me to not stress and worry about being alone. She was constantly a source of encouragement and positivity. She’s very respectful of your birthing choices. She’s also intuitive and started heading to the birthing center to meet me before I even had a chance to tell her it was time to go. I’m so glad she came into our lives.”

“Lauren is awesome and I would not have been as good a mother in those early weeks without her! She always manages to get all the chores done no matter how busy things are and has a knack for knowing what else needs doing without any instruction. She took it upon herself to harvest the veggies out of the garden, looked up new recipes to cook with them, and fed me better than I feed myself, all while figuring out just how I like everything. She left drinks, treats and supplies out that I might need later, putting each thing just where it needed to be so I could reach it in the dark at 3am. Best of all, she is wonderful at mothering the mother – gently supporting me through the ups and downs of early motherhood as I figured out what I was doing, listening to all of my sleep deprived fears, taking care of me so I could take care of my baby. She was really there for me when I needed her most and I highly recommend her.”

“My husband John and I had our first baby, a girl, this January with Lauren as our doula. We chose to give birth in a hospital for financial reasons but wanted as natural an experience as possible. Lauren listened carefully to all our preferences and concerns at our first meeting and gave helpful suggestions about how we could achieve them in the hospital setting. From the start she was warm, friendly, professional and caring. We felt like we were in good hands. And we were. My birth wasn’t an easy one – three days of labor including some prodromal labor at the beginning. Lauren gave lots of good advice as we tried to figure out what was going on and generously gave her time to come over and help despite the fact things weren’t moving so fast. Once things finally did get underway, she was great at helping John get me through painful contractions while still allowing us time to be a couple and support each other. When I wanted to go to the hospital she reminded me it would probably be better to wait. Once at the hospital, she helped make the room warm and homey with (electric) candles, music and other elements. When the midwife suggested interventions because things weren’t moving so fast, Lauren gently suggested a more natural technique – bouncing on the birth ball – which worked! While it was a hard birth, it was natural – just the way I wanted – and John and I really feel we couldn’t have done it that way without Lauren’s wisdom and support. I’d absolutely recommend her. We had a great experience!”

“Lauren was fantastic to work with! She was never pushy with her views and provided ample information on subjects that I didn’t have knowledge on. My baby was earlier than we expected and Lauren even though she wasn’t at the time when she was supposed to be on call 24/7 made herself available. She was able to walk my husband through what was happening when the baby was coming with lights going on and the commotion. She was a calming and encouraging force for me to have in the room. I highly recommend having her as a part of your team!”

“From the moment I met Lauren I knew I wanted to hire her as my doula for my home birth. Speaking with her felt like speaking to an old friend.  It was so easy to tell that she embodied the characteristics of the type of doula that I was looking for: friendly, authenticity, intuitive, warmth, kindness, self-directed and nurturing. Being a mother herself, I knew that she understood what it was to give birth which was important to me. During my birth it was as if she knew exactly what to and when to do it, and she did it all with a sense of ease which I greatly appreciated. I appreciated and loved her company so much that I hired her as a postpartum doula to help with the transition of my family of three to a family of four. With Lauren’s help after the birth, I was able to get the rest and nurturing that a new mother deserves and was able to have more time with my husband and daughter as we welcomed our son into our family. I feel tremendously lucky to have established a relationship with such a wonderful woman. She was my birthing/postpartum doula and is now someone I call a dear friend.”

“Lauren was a god-send on the night I went into labor. She arrived quickly to stay with my 3 1/2 year old so my husband and I could head to the hospital. The next morning she brought my daughter to meet the new baby and kept her busy the rest of the day. She even helped out weeks later when my husband and I needed a break. When we first met Lauren we loved her right away and after interviewing other options decided she was the #1 person we could trust and who my daughter would feel most comfortable waking up to when we were gone. We are so happy we made the choice to have her help out with our daughter and if there were 2 of her, I would have also had her as our doula.”

“I was attempting to have a vaginal birth after a previous csection and knew that I wanted a doula at the birth. Lauren was recommended to me and I connected with her right away at our first meeting. She was warm and easy to talk to. After we hired her I immediately felt relief- I was so nervous and didn’t know what to expect and was excited to have her support to count on. I loved that she had us think about things that we wouldn’t have even considered discussing with our doctors and helped us write a birth plan that was perfect for our situation. Lauren checked in with me prior to the labor which eased my mind further and helped me get excited for the big day. She was in touch with us from the minute I went into labor and helped me make decisions throughout the labor that would have been overwhelming had she not been there. Her massage and pressure techniques were awesome! I ended up with a perfect vaginal birth and a perfect baby girl.”

“I can’t say enough about how wonderful it was to have Lauren as a doula. She immediately drew my husband and I to her when we met her, with her warm smile and her down-to-earth and natural personality. Her English accent is pretty irresistible too! She was such a key part of our birth preparation and experience, from helping me articulate a birth plan, to providing endless patient and practical advice during labor and delivery, to the sweetest letter she wrote for my daughter telling the story of her birth- Lauren will always be special to us because of the role she played in our daughter’s birth. As a family doctor who does deliveries and newborn care myself, I knew I would need help getting out of my “doctor brain” and getting into my “mommy body.” Lauren gently and firmly reminded me that my body was meant for this, and I had the most amazing vaginal delivery of my sweet little girl. I felt affirmed and supported the whole time. As a doctor I knew the evidence behind doulas- that they can shorten labor and help prevent cesarean sections- but now I can say from personal experience that choosing to have Lauren as our doula was one of the best decisions we made. I would highly recommend her services!”

“I met Lauren at the end of my second trimester. I was pregnant with my first, a baby girl! Due to recent circumstances in my life I found myself going through the process of planning for the birth of my daughter alone, and preparing to raise this amazing little bean inside me as a single mother. In addition to the normal feelings of overwhelm and excitement that I imagine come with any pregnancy, I was looking for someone who would help support me during this sensitive and emotional transition in my life. The moment I met Lauren I knew she was it; she was the compassionate, grounded, supportive person I was looking for to be a part of this amazing experience. She immediately put me at ease with her calm, sweet demeanor. She made the unknowns of pregnancy and childbirth seem not so scary with all of her knowledge and personal experiences. Lauren had a way of explaining things that made sense and took away any of the first-time-mommy jitters. She was so sweet, so accommodating of my needs, and made it so easy to help me prepare for the birth of my daughter. She worked alongside my closest girlfriends to welcome my daughter into this world. Even though I had friends willing to be a part of my labor and birthing experience, Lauren proved to be a calming and grounding force that I needed. Not only would I highly recommend Lauren because of her unbelievable love and dedication to what she does, but because she genuinely cares about the the people she works with. Lauren and I have kept in touch and she still checks in to see how we are doing. I am happy to call her a friend. It was such a positive experience working with and getting to know Lauren. Anyone would be lucky to have her be a part of such an emotional and monumental moment in their lives.”

“We met Lauren when looking for a doula for the birth of our first son. I was wanting to try natural childbirth and use the Bradley method during my labor. My husband and I felt a connection with Lauren right away. She was calm, understanding, a great listener, proactive and extremely supportive of our wants and desires. I ended up being 16 days late and spent 53 hours in labor. I cannot tell you what a fantastic help Lauren was to not only me, but also to my husband. Because my labor was relatively long, she was able to give my husband breaks, help me get into new positions, give massage, offer up suggestions for new techniques and remind us and the doctors of our birth plan. Although our birth ended in a c-section, I am so thankful Lauren was there to help us keep calm and aid me in delivering a healthy baby, which was our ultimate goal. I couldn’t imagine delivering another baby without her! If the money is ever a factor when picking a doula, Lauren is worth every penny and more! Plus you never know what kind of birth experience you will end up having so it is best to be prepared! All this to say, I felt prepared with Lauren! She is an amazing doula, woman and mother!”

“My husband and I were grateful to have had Lauren at the birth of our daughter. Having no idea what to expect or the types of things we should consider, Lauren was able to walk us through the entire process step-by-step. She shared resources and knowledge about the various pros and cons for each option available to us throughout the labor and delivery process and was a great coach throughout. It was so comforting to have her support, knowledge, strength and sense of calm throughout the entire experience. She also spent time documenting our birth for us which was a real treasure for us. We now have a written story of the day to share with our daughter once she grows up!”

“My partner and I were very careful with who we chose to be at our birth. When we met Lauren we knew instantly that she would bring a very important piece to our birthing process. Lauren was extremely valuable in helping us through the laboring process. Her calm, steady, and grounded presence provided us the opportunity to stay present with ourselves. She gently reminded us of the tools we could use to make the process easier and encouraged us to work together as a couple. We felt whole and supported throughout the process. Her empathy was felt yet she helped us both by modeling strength and confidence when we needed to push through. I hope Lauren continues to bless others with her amazing gifts and will be there again when our family expands!”

“I have experienced two pregnancies, the first was processed through the system and left me without much to say. The ending result was a bit traumatic. With my second I gained knowledge of my body and applied trust to it’s performance. With this my support system dwindled, many friends and family believed my choices for a natural birth were to radical and would cause many woes for my child in utero..support was gained through Lauren, her presence and knowledge was gained with each visit, we spoke as though our meeting took place years in advance. She allowed self expression and invited me to create my ideal birth plan, and ensured all was followed at the time of transition.
I experienced much of my labor at home, arriving to the birthing center after my waters broke, I was 9cm dilated, 20 mins later my son was earth side. The experience was beautiful and one that will remain with me till death, being surrounded by love and support amplified the trust which I formed throughout my pregnancy with her assistance.
Forever grateful.”

“Lauren’s down-to earth, warm, and thoughtful support made the birth of our baby daughter a far better experience for my wife, myself, and our baby, and also for our families. We give her the highest possible recommendation, and hope that she is available when our family gets larger in the future. We chose Lauren because we felt comfortable with her right away upon meeting her. It was clear that her only agenda was for us to have a healthy, happy baby and to make the birth experience as easy as possible for us. She never tried to force her own agenda or ideas onto our experience, and never took center stage, bur rather was a constant, cheerful, and reassuring source of knowledge and experience available when and where we needed it. Lauren came to the house a few times prior to the birth, to help us prepare for the baby’s arrival, and to get to know how our household functioned. Lauren was with my wife during her entire labor, and knew just when to head to the birth center. During the birth she provided my wife with encouragement and support, and (at our request) took some beautiful photographs and videos. After the birth, Lauren was helpful to us in so many ways, primarily with sharing her knowledge regarding infant care, breastfeeding, etc. But Lauren also helped us with meals and keeping the house in order during the first few weeks when we were adjusting to our new life as a family and my wife was recovering from the delivery. You will be very happy if you choose Lauren as your doula. It’s like having a good friend along with you through this important life experience; a friend who has experience and knowledge, and who adds a cheerful confidence to the entire journey.

“We were fortunate to have our friends recommend Lauren to us a month before our delivery. We hadn’t thought we’d need a doula as we had been preparing for a hypno-birth where my husband would be my birthing companion. I’m so glad we took their advice. Upon meeting Lauren we immediately felt comfortable with her. She is a devoted mom and a warm and sunny person who genuinely cares for mothers and the sacredness of birth. During my labor, Lauren gently coached me into comfortable positions, always reassuring me and keeping my spirits up. She knew just where and when to massage my lower back minimizing the intensity of my contractions. Her presence and support allowed my husband and I the closeness and intimacy we had hoped to experience during our delivery. We were so touched when Lauren presented us with a letter to our daughter describing her birth story and a beautiful book. We will always cherish our birth memories. Thank you Lauren!!”

“My husband and I are so very grateful for Lauren’s guidance through our first childbirth. We opted to have a hospital birth, but wanted to labor at home in order to feel more comfortable and avoid the unnecessary interventions that can sometimes occur in a hospital setting. Lauren met with us a few times before the birth and was available by phone or email to answer my numerous questions. I was nervous, to say the least! My labor began late in the evening and progressed rapidly through the night. When Lauren arrived at our house I was deep in active labor and already losing self-confidence.  I breathed a sigh of relief when I heard her walking up the stairs – and I know my husband did too. Lauren  immediately applied expert pressure on my lower back, suggested new positions to relieve my pain, and directed my husband with gentle wisdom.  As my contractions lengthened and intensified through the early morning hours, Lauren gave us courage and comfort. When we transferred to the hospital we were especially impressed with her ability to communicate my birth plan respectfully to the hospital staff and remain a voice of guidance and encouragement through my pushing and delivery, while simultaneously handing authority over to the nurses. I am so deeply moved by Lauren’s passion and commitment for her profession. We admire her and consider her a friend for life. Thank you Lauren!”

“It was truly meant to be that we found Lauren through Tim and Jaima. Lauren took us on the day before our due date and supported us from that moment on. Her energy was so calming to me throughout that miraculous day. All of her words renewed my spirit and kept me going. And her hands worked wonders for my body to relieve tension and pressure. “I was extremely happy to have Lauren as a Doula during the birth of our first baby. Up until a few months before the birth I never knew what a Doula was or what they did. We were recommended to have a Doula for the birth of our baby during birth classes. At the time of our classes I did not see the importance of having a Doula present during the baby’s birth. I trusted the birth class teachers advice and we both agreed we should hire a Doula. We met with quite a few Doulas and decided to hire Lauren because she had a great personality. Lauren was professional and had a real passion for babies. Lauren was there during most of the intense labor which was 14 hours through the night. She had great advice and was comforting during contractions. Having Lauren as a Doula took a lot of pressure off my shoulders as a Father. It was extremely comforting to know I had someone there who could talk and soothe Jaima through her contractions. We were happy to know we had someone there we could rely on during the labor.”

~Tim, birth support

“Initially my partner and I were on the fence about having a Doula at the birth of our son. We only first learned what a Doula was during our birth classes. I really thought I’d only need one in the event of a hospital transfer if for some reason we weren’t able to deliver at the birth center, but boy was I wrong. I don’t know how I could have gotten through one of the most challenging days of my life without Lauren Doiron. Not only was she there for me in the stressful days waiting for labor to start but her presence during labor was most comforting to me. I needed my partner for emotional support but we were not and could not have been prepared for the intensity of labor. Lauren knew just what to say and do to keep us both calm. I highly recommend hiring Lauren as your Doula. I know I will next time around.”

“I met Lauren after being admitted into the hospital to deliver our daughter.   We had been scheduled to deliver at the birthing center here in town, and due to last minute complications had to transfer to hospital.  Needless to say it was a bit frantic for my husband and I, and meeting our labor support person under these circumstances could have been tense or strained. Not a chance with Lauren!  She arrived on a last minute call from the midwives and cheerfully spent a rough night with us in the hospital.  She remained present and centered and immediately became a real member of our team!  She quickly and thoroughly familiarized herself with our family and our birth plan and helped us follow it as closely as possible without judgment.  She was a wonderful advocate for any of our needs with the hospital staff!  When my labor progressed to the final stages, Lauren’s grounded presence and reassuring touch was invaluable! She was constant and full of valuable knowledge, all while making my husband feel empowered and competent. I can’t imagine my labor without her beautiful presence there! Having had doulas with my previous births, I can honestly recommend Lauren with my whole heart!”

I can tell she has a passion for this field and I know she will be great with future ‘mommy-to-be’s. Lauren was even helpful with me trying to find the perfect doctor after my move to another city. “Lauren was one of two attending doulas during the birth of my first baby in December of 2012. I knew when I first met her that her sweet spirit and calm demeanor were exactly what would keep me peaceful and relaxed for my home birth. She did a great job at not only keeping me hydrated and firm pressure on my back during contractions, but she also photographed during my labor and right after my baby was born. I’ve looked at those photographs so many times and cannot imagine if she hadn’t taken them for us. She was not only my doula, but became a friend I cherish. She brought a ton of groceriesto help with my milk the day after the baby was born and checked in on us several times in the following weeks. I felt very supported and cared for and would recommend her to my best friends!”

“I had the joy of working with Lauren when she attended a birth with me on 12/12/12. She was such a natural at being a Doula and was SUCH a huge help! I was so thankful for Lauren when she spent some extra time with the mama. Lauren knew EXACTLY what she needed after the birth and was such a gentle and encouraging presence through the whole process. I admire the choices Lauren has made in her own parenting journey as I was not nearly as wise as she when my first baby came along, and because of that I think she will be such an amazing resource for women as they become mothers. she is real and down to earth and so loving! I am so privileged to know Lauren and to have worked with her!”

“I can’t recommend Lauren Doiron enough as a postpartum doula! She was truly a visiting angel the first time she visited my home. She jumped right in and started folding and putting away laundry… She has made beds, vacuumed, washed dishes, run errands across town, baked large batches of food for my son’s special diet, and babysat my five children, who all adore her… generally helping everyone to feel better. In addition to all the help, Lauren spreads an atmosphere of good cheer wherever she goes. She is wonderful!”

“My name is Candy Marvdashti and I am the mother of a beautiful 16 month old baby girl named Shea. Lauren took care of my Shea since she was 8 weeks old. As a first time mother it was very hard for me to leave her, but Lauren helped me through this transition. I breastfed Shea for a year and Lauren helped with storing breastmilk properly and feeding it to my baby girl, changing her diapers (Shea was never chaffed), she also showed Shea baby Einstein videos to stimulate her cognitive skills. I could tell Shea was in good care because she loves Lauren and never cried when we left her there. Lauren is always so loving towards the baby and is extremely professional. She understood me and my husband’s desires as new parents and performed her duties in caring for our baby accordingly. I have nothing but good things to say about Lauren and I am certain she will go far and achieve great things in this journey as a doula. My phone number is available upon request for further questions!”
